Gender-Affirming Therapy

For 2STGNC+ (Two-Spirit, Trans, and Gender Non-conforming Adults)

Being fully present in your body is so freaking uncomfortable.

You wish your gender dysphoria was less intense, or at least that you could find clothes that fit AND affirm your body.

Every day you question whether you are trans enough.

You’re tired of dealing with one stressor after another, never feeling understood and struggling to reach out for help. You’ve been lying awake at night thinking of all the changes you would like to make, but you don’t know how to do it on your own.

Getting misgendered multiple times a day at work is exhausting, and maybe it would be less painful to just present more ‘binary.’ You’re especially frustrated with your family, who claim they’re supportive but haven’t been getting better at pronouns.

You don’t know how much longer you can stand it.

You’re close to a breaking point, not in a suicidal way, just more in wanting to curl up in a ball and escape. Even your partner is really worried and isn’t sure how to support you. You’ve waited so long to have a healthy relationship, especially given how traumatic the last one was, that you don’t want to burden your partner with the pain you feel.

I’m addyson, a nonbinary gender therapist in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

As a queer, femme, nonbinary therapist, I support trans and nonbinary adults work toward healing, particularly those who struggle with feeling

'not good enough’ or 'too much.’

For trans and nonbinary adults seeking a queer and nonbinary therapist in Providence, Rhode Island or Boston, Massachusetts who is trans-affirming, I offer individual therapy in addition to surgery assessment and letter writing.

Together we will look at how you’ve been dealing with the stress of life and explore how to speak to yourself with more kindness and compassion, helping you feel supported and less isolated so you can step into feeling empowered and confident with yourself and with others.

This might include exploring the neurobiological impact of past hurts and shame, understanding pain triggers in relationship to yourself, your body, and others in your life.

You deserve to feel seen and affirmed.

PERIOD.

You deserve that without having to overexplain or justify your identity, feelings & experiences. We will work together to help you feel more connected to yourself, increasing awareness and communication of your needs, desires, and boundaries.

I aim to create an environment where we can examine body and gender liberation at the intersection of race and history while increasing self-compassion and shame resilience.

If you’re looking for a gender-affirming therapist, let’s help you locate the space between holding the hard stuff and embracing your authentic self.

I also specialize in supporting queer and trans adults seeking racial and body liberation, including BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and fat people.

I see you. You are enough. You are worthy of belonging and connection.
